(Stephen Cone, 2017, USA, DCP, 96 min.)
As a child, Cyd lost her mother. Years later, while preparing to apply for college, she moves in with her aunt in Chicago for the summer. As the summer passes by, Cyd gets wrapped up in her aunt’s life, while exploring her own identity. Writer/director (and Northwestern faculty member) Cone lends a deeply personal and sensitive perspective to his entry in the coming of age drama genre.

In Person: filmmaker Stephen Cone and crew from the film.

Made in Chicago

Most movie-goers are familiar with the blockbuster films that use Chicago for a backdrop to action sequences, but they are less aware of the independent film production that happens here every year. Made in Chicago is a year-long program showcasing the film production that happens in our backyard. Filmmakers will be in attendance to participate in post-screening discussions.
