The White House Collection of American Crafts


white houseThis exhibition of the first official White House crafts collection, assembled in 1993, reflected the nation’s longstanding tradition of craft making, as well as the richness and diversity of this important aspect of American artistic heritage. Including virtuoso objects in glass, wood, clay, fiber, and metal, the 72 works exemplified the skill, imagination, and vitality characteristic of craft in the 1990s.
