Group Exhibition Visits

a tour group at the museum

Any group may request a focused tour on select artworks from an exhibition. Most exhibition tours are led by Northwestern undergraduates in The Block Museum Student Associate (BMSA) program. These student-led tours offer an introduction to the museum; lively conversation on 1-3 artworks in our main exhibition; and a chance to hear how undergraduates engage with art as part of their Northwestern experience. We will do our best to accommodate tour requests, depending on capacity and availability. Please allow at least three weeks’ notice when scheduling an exhibition tour.

The Block specializes in the presentation of exhibitions and public programs that resonate with contemporary life, and with issues and conversations relevant to young adult and adult visitors.  The Block's tours and educational offerings are best tailored to high school, college, and adult audiences from across the Chicago region. We are fortunate to be connected to civic museums and arts organizations in Chicago and Evanston best positioned to serving needs of K-8 education and would be happy to make referrals to museum and arts resources for younger groups.

Northwestern class visits to view works from the collection

Northwestern classes and groups may alsp request appointments to view works from our collection in our dedicated classroom space. The classroom affords an intimate context for close looking, teaching, and scholarly discussion of works of art in The Block’s collection.
