Artist Douglas Gordon explores the impact of the motion picture soundtrack by filming James Conlon (currently music director at Ravinia Festival and Los Angeles Opera) in close-ups as Conlon conducts Bernard Herrmann's score for the Alfred Hitchcock film Vertigo.

For its presentation at the Block Museum, Feature Film was projected on two opposing surfaces.

Support for Douglas Gordon: Feature Film is provided by the Alsdorf Endowment; the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency; and C. Richard Kramlich.
