Edges is
a score that uses many symbols adopted from traditional notation,
but places them in a very sparse and minimal space, where they do
not operate in their normal state. Instead Edges is a score
that encourages the performer to explore its various spaces and play
its symbols at ones leisure. Wolff himself never had any formal musical
training, and one of his main interests in music was how musicians
interacted with each other and with their music when it occurs in
