The exhibit uses three types of interpretation to examine the graphical scores: musician interviews, recorded performances, and critiques. Interviewees speak about their experiences creating or interpreting graphical notations. Performances of the scores offer a musical interpretation to compliment the visual impact of the images. Informed critiques of the notations place the work in an academic context and give a point of view external to that of its creators.
