In the 1960s, Cardew studied, taught, and performed modern music, frequently including pieces by composers such as John Cage, Christian Wolff, Terry Riley, La Monte Young and others. During this time he pursued coursework in graphic design, and created some of his most famous compositions, which contained many graphic elements. |
