Scores: Between
1950 and 1970:
John Cage, Music
of Changes
Many examples display
how Cage's music challenges conventional ideas of music. His series,
Imaginary Landscapes, are early explorations of electronic music,
incorporating variable-speed turntables and radio broadcasts as instruments.
His composition Music of Changes is deeply rooted in eastern philosophy
and uses the I Ching and operations of chance as a means of determining
the composition.
