Roger Fry, Paper Flowers on a Mantlepiece, 1919, oil on canvas on board. Collection of Bannon and Barnabas McHenry. Photograph by Julia Magura, Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art. Exploring intersections between visual art, literature, and social reform, this exhibition brings together more than 150 objects that reflect the creative vision and collaborative journeys of the Bloomsbury group, a collective of British artists and writers active during the first half of the 20th century. Including a range of visual arts, such as oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, books, decorative art objects and design, it includes works by Virginia Woolf, Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, Roger Fry, Dora Carrington, and others. This exhibition is organized by the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University in connection with the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. Click on the picture for a slideshow.
