Family and Youth Programs
The Block Museum offers programs to foster creative collaboration within families and nurture individual imagination in art making. Families can enjoy workshops, summer cinema, and other special family events. During the summer, the museum also offers special programs for summer youth and camp groups.

Family Days at the Block Museum
Sunday July 12, 1–4 pm
Sunday August 9, 1–4 pm
Bring your family to the Block Museum for a FREE afternoon of creativity! Come by anytime and enjoy a variety of art making activities, tours, and more. Recommended for families with children 5 and up. This event is FREE. No registration required.
Summer Outdoor Movies

Summer Youth Programs
Summer youth groups and camps can enjoy tours and art-making programs at the Block Museum throughout the summer. See our full list of summer group programs below.
All Summer Youth Program reservations should be made no later than 3 weeks in advance. Click here for our Summer Group Visit Reservation Form or email blockeducation@northwestern.edu to have a form sent to you or for more information. All art materials are included in the price of tours.

Sculpture Garden Walk
Ages 5 and up
Take a walk through the Block Museum's Outdoor Sculpture Garden and then create your own sculptural masterpiece with clay and wire.
$10/group of 30 students

Studio Program
Ages 5 and up
Students will go on a discussion based-tour of the exhibition Place and Presence: Photography from the Collection, exploring how artists tell stories about people and places through photography. Then we'll head to the studio to create our own image stories with collage and printmaking.
$25/group of 30 students

Gallery Program
Ages 5 and up
Students will go on a discussion based-tour of the exhibition Place and Presence: Photography from the Collection exploring how artists tell stories about people and places through photography and write their own creative poems and stories about the work they see in the galleries!
$10/group of 30 students

The Block Museum can accommodate groups of up to 100 students with a combination of programs.
Lunch
Large groups are welcome to eat lunch before or after their field trips on campus. The Norris Student Center is located next door to the Museum and groups of up to 120 can eat lunch indoors there. Groups are also encouraged to eat outside by the lake or in the Sculpture Garden. Please bring bagged lunches in containers.
