Robert Motherwell Challenge

Prompted by the exhibition Robert Motherwell: An Attitude Toward Reality, From the Collection of the Walker Art Center, the Robert Motherwell Challenge asked Northwestern students to submit artwork "inspired by Motherwell." Our panel of judges was asked to choose three works for display at Urban Outfitters. After much deliberation, the judges decided to select four winners.

Thank you to the judges—Judy Ledgerwood (Chair of the Northwestern University Department of Art Theory and Practice), Curt Bozif (MFA, Northwestern University), and Shane Treacy (Urban Outfitters artist and designer)—for donating their time and skills to this project. Thank you also to Chris Murphy and the staff of Urban Outfitters Evanston and to all the Northwestern students who took on the Challenge.
